The Universe is expanding
still, our hands will
lengthen. The doors of historic
houses are too low to pass through;
our door frames, a hundred
years aged, will be too
short for our grandchildren.
Atoms expand apart forever;
folks taller, fingers longer.
Let’s lock them together,
I will hold you with the
better, until the fingers are old
and their atoms unfettered.
